What about Salon Products? Discover the Difference between Buying In Salon vs. Retail!

Salon vs. Retail Product Purchasing

Hi There Beauty Lovers! It’s the FS Glam Squad here to talk Salon vs. Retail Product Purchasing - theres a lot out there and we want you and your hair to be well informed!

Let us fill you in on the Do’s and Don’ts on product purchasing and what to note when gaining proper haircare, skincare or beauty-care products!

  1. Not all products are the same.

Yes, this is a true statement and we say this with care as we recently heard of an unfortunate experience.

One of our customers whom moved to London was in search of our Kevin Murphy Product Line - a unique, cruelty-free and incredible haircare line however one that is not always found in most salons. The customer noticed that amazon did carry her same product and once purchased/delivered realized that she had been scammed.

2. Only trust your local Hair Salons.

Whether you choose a haircare, skincare or body product the safest way to know you are getting the “real deal” with the real ingredients and benefits is to trust your local salon.

You never know where online sites are gaining products, and with salons you know they are going through the actual distributor whom deals with actual corporation and you are in fact guaranteed the best ingredients and best products.

Stay up to date with the latest salons that carry your favorite go-to branded products and keep an eye out for the products website as most will implement a “salon locator” so you are ensured that what you are getting is again - the “real deal”.

3. Expired Products? Thats a Big No-No.

Aside from just counterfeit products, these products that look like the “real-deal” can easily be diverted, fake, counterfeit and worse - outdated.

Who would want to open their product from their local grocery store or small drugstore to find that the ingredients inside our expired, could be contaminated and could very well aid in bacteria.

4. Always Check the Label.

Did you know that majority of haircare, skincare or beauty products typically tend to have the label right on the bottle which will indicate the shelf life of the product (12m, 24m, or even 6m) This indicator is letting you know that typically your product can last anywhere between 1-2 years, and after?

It’s time to renew.

5. Trust your Hairdresser.

Our Master Hair Stylists and Color Educators know what is best for your hair, their experts in their craft and their to answer any questions you may have on which product is best for you.

The next time your in a tricky situation, look a the labels, be sure of the salon locator on your favorite brands website and always trust your stylist in addressing the proper products to fit your wants, needs, and lifestyle.
